Prime Video – The TEST SEASON TWO

Stamping Ground was engaged by Prime Video for the second instalment of the Australian men’s cricket team documentary, The Test Season Two, which premiered worldwide on January 13, 2023.


Produced by Amazon Studios, Cricket Australia and Whooshka Media, The Test Season Two showed an intimate side to the Australian test team in their efforts to be the best in the world in the face of dramatic leadership changes. Viewers were given a fly-on-the-wall insight as players invited them into their lives both on and off the field.

PR Campaign

Stamping Ground was appointed to manage national PR coverage for two press events in Adelaide and Sydney, where the media were given access to the test players as well as the documentary directors, Adrian Brown and Sheldon Wynne.

Stamping Ground also developed and managed the 600-strong guest list of sporting stars, industry leaders and national public figures for the world premiere screening in Sydney on January 9, four days before the documentary’s release on Prime Video.  

The PR campaign generated over 2,500 pieces of coverage nationwide with an estimated cumulative audience reach of over 64,500,000 and an advertising value equivalency of more than $4 million.


Highlights of the coverage included Nine’s Today Show interview with Australian captain Pat Cummins and teammate Mitchell Starc, ABC Breakfast, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age,  Herald Sun (print and online), The Daily Telegraph (print and online), The Age and Sydney Morning Herald –  Spectrum, The Drop Podcast, The Code, SEN Breakfast Melbourne, SEN Breakfast Sydney, Talk Radio NZ, The Guardian, We Got The Chocolates, Fox Sport Digital, Frenchy, The Grade Cricketer, The West Australian, SEN Sydney and Melbourne Afternoons, SEN Radio Drive Melbourne, Gold FM NZAAP newswire (Racing and Sport),, SEN Track, Novastream, The Courier Mail, Wide World of Sports (online) and Piccolo Podcasts. An additional interview was placed with opening batsman Usman Khawaja via a live cross with the Today Show.

There were 30 more red-carpet interviews conducted at the world premiere screening, resulting in coverage on 10 News First, 7News, 9News, Fox Sports, ESPN, Sky News, Sports Bible,, Fox News, SEN, The Grade Cricketer, The Inner Sanctum, Edge of the Crowd and Code Sports.
